Laser Eye Surgery

For many people the cost of treatment is an important consideration – our laser eye surgery prices are simple to understand.

It is always a good idea to examine what the cost of surgery includes and what kind of aftercare is offered by the surgeon and clinic. We have provided a clear explanation of our fees on this page which applies to patients wishing to have eye surgery with David Gartry at Moorfields. If you have any questions please do get in touch.

By charging for your consultation we are able to offer a comprehensive service that few other providers can match. We will run a series of specialist eye tests, after which you will meet the consultant surgeon, David Gartry, who will explain your results in detail. He will give you comprehensive, objective advice about whether eye surgery is right for you and, if so, the most appropriate treatment option to meet your needs. We will give you all the information you need to make your own decision in your own time.

Prices are for both eyes. Aftercare visits and any re-retreatments required (rarely) are free of charge within 2 years of the initial treatment.

Your wavefront-guided laser procedure fee includes David Gartry’s surgical fee and Moorfields Eye Hospital facility fee and aftercare drops given to you at discharge.

Please note for higher prescriptions or astigmatism including more complex cases higher fees may apply. David Gartry will advise whether a patient’s prescription is complex or not at the initial consultation assessment. Only a small percentage of patients (with high prescriptions including high astigmatism) are in this latter, more complex category.

Cataract and Refractive Lens Exchange

*Follow-up appointments are not included in the surgery fee and will be charged per visit.  There are usually two to three follow-up visits charged at £175.00 each.

If you are insured, it is highly likely that not all fees will be covered by your insurance company. Most do not pay for any special order lens, nor do they cover the femto laser fee charged by Moorfields which is outside of the C7122 procedure code. Please speak to one of our team who will be able to advise you what your insurance company would usually cover as this varies from insurer to insurer.
