I would Highly recommend David Gartry if you are considering Laser eye surgery. I was recommended the LASEK procedure for several reasons. Firstly, I had thin corneas and this procedure was therefore more suited to my eye type. Secondly, I am involved in contact sports including triathlon and windsurfing and a direct trauma to the eye would be less advisable following the alternative procedure LASIK. I was warned that that the recovery period from my LASEK procedure would be longer but it was 100% worth it.

I no longer have to worry about contact lenses, which I have been wearing for over 30 years, and my eye sight for distance is better than 20:20! There is a laborious process of applying eye drops regularly post-surgery and instead of the ‘wow effect’ immediate recovery of the LASIK it took about 4 to 6 weeks for my eyes to recover completely after LASEK.

I was told to be patient as it was a bit of a waiting game but oh so worth it! The procedure itself was completely pain-free and I really appreciated the way that Mr Gartry explained exactly what he was doing every step of the way throughout the procedure. All the staff at both the Moorfield eye hospital and at the Consulting rooms opposite were extremely courteous, helpful and professional. I would not have trusted my eyes to anyone else.
