I never considered laser eye surgery as an option for me given my extremely high level of astigmatism (-4.5 and -6) in addition to my short sightedness (-4 and -5) but after discussing options with my optician, Professor Gartry was recommended to me as the leading practitioner in this field. My expectations were not to have ‘perfect’ vision following the surgery as for me ‘functional’ was attractive enough for me to go ahead with it. However, having had Lasek 3 months ago my expectations have been far exceeded and I now have perfect vision. Having Lasek with Professor Gartry has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life and I am overjoyed with the result.
