After attending an open evening with Moorfields I decided to go ahead and undertake laser eye surgery with David, I was impressed and very reassured that I was with the best, especially as I had a higher prescription than the average.

The initial consultation answered most of my questions and the team supporting David were also fantastic in quickly answering and helping with any follow up queries. The surgery went extremely well and although the first week or two are quite testing (after LASEK) but I had all the drops etc provided to easily manage it.

3 months on I have quite literally life changing results and I’m very grateful to all involved for that, I also take comfort that if I need further support it would be there and I have the top up guarantee as peace of mind. All in all, I’d highly recommend it to anyone thinking of having it done and eligible to do it, you would be with some of the best with David and team.

I cannot recommend The Wimpole Eye Clinic and Dr David Gartry highly enough. My eyesight deteriorated extremely quickly over a very short period of time, and the level of care I received was exceptional from start to finish.

Dr Gartry kindly saw me for an emergency appointment at very short notice, immediately understood the urgency of the situation, and went above and beyond to fit me in for cataract surgery far sooner than expected — incredibly, over the Christmas period, which I understand is highly unusual.

The surgery itself was seamless, and a few month’s on the results have been life-changing. Dr Gartry’s professionalism, expertise, and calm reassurance throughout the process gave me complete confidence at what was a very worrying time.

A huge thank you as well to the wonderful team at The Wimpole Eye Clinic for their kindness, understanding and efficiency. I am truly grateful for the outstanding care I received and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering eye surgery.

The whole process has been reassuring and smooth. All questions were answered. I was made to feel very confident with decisions and the actual process was so quick. Healing was slow but expected as I got the LASEK eye surgery. I needed two weeks off work for recovery as I work on computers and couldn’t see well enough. But very happy with prof. Have just had a lens replacement in one eye due to a cataract. Mono vision lens. Am so very pleased with the results. As I am still slightly shortsighted in my other eye I have perfect reading and distance vision. No glasses needed! Professor Gartry and team were all very caring and answered all of my questions beforehand and gave great aftercare. Could not be happier.

Professor Gartry recently did replacement lens exchange (Femto-phako with multifocal lenses) for vision correction of both of my eyes. (It’s the same technique as for cataracts.) The experience was excellent, very friendly and professional. He made sure I was well informed about the surgery in advance and the whole process was comfortable and pain-free. The team at his office were great, as were the clinical staff at Moorfields on the days of my procedures. I had successful Lasik at Moorfields more than 20 years ago, aged 50, and only recently have needed glasses again for driving and reading. I always knew I would travel back to London to see Professor Gartry if I chose lens replacement surgery as my eyes aged. It was a good decision and I no longer need glasses. I definitely recommend him.

I cannot recommend dr Gartry enough. In November 2025 I had PRK (LASEK) instead of LASIK as I do martial arts. I now have better than 20 vision and no issues. I got to him through a colleague’s recommendation and I am so glad to have met him. He is such a pleasure to deal with and always takes time to listen.
