I came to an appointment with Professor Gartry last November due to my failing eyesight. I have been on quite a journey since then and sadly lost my ability to drive along the way. It turned out that I have an OPA1 gene mutation which is causing a degeneration of my vision and hearing.

I just wanted to thank Professor Gartry for his diligence and professionalism which started the journey leading to this eventual diagnosis that may never otherwise have been discovered.
