In about 2002, Professor Gartry performed LASIK surgery, improving my eyesight from -12 to 20/20. Over the years, my prescription deteriorated with age, and a few months ago (at about -4), I decided to follow my husband’s lead and go for refractive lens exchange. I had no intention at all of entrusting my eyes to anyone other than Prof Gartry, so visited the clinic (professional, warm, friendly) and got myself booked in for surgery. My eyes were done a week apart, and the whole team were superb. Two months on, I’ve just had my final check up and been told that my lifelong astigmatism has been eliminated, as well as my sight hovering around the 20/20 mark. As in 2003, ‘delighted’ would be an understatement- Prof Gartry’s work truly is life changing.
I had LASEK with Prof. Gartry back in January 2017 for my wedding. I was one of the small percentage of people not to achieve near perfect vision so had a complimentary top up. Now, 7.5 years later my prescription is 0 and -0.25 which im thrilled with. It is SO liberating to not need glasses. All those little things like reaching for your glasses in the night to pop to the bathroom or falling asleep in your contacts or glasses and loosing them in the bed. Gone. I’d recommend it to anyone suitable. It’s very straightforward, a quick and painless procedure. You don’t know prof Gartry is even performing the procedure there’s no burning or pain, just a noise.
You’re in excellent hands with Prof Gartry. If you can, do it. Be liberated. It’s a wonderful feeling.
