Prof Gartry was fantastic throughout my lasik experience. I was recommended Prof Gartry by a friend. The initial appointment for tests was made very quickly and he took the time to explain everything to me and answer my questions- don’t forget to bring sun glasses as even though it was overcast, the eye drops used to relax your eyes for the tests take a few hours to wear off and make light exposure really unpleasant for a little while afterwards!

The operation was very quick. Prof Gartry talked to me throughout the operation, explaining everything that was happening at each stage and keeping me calm. Whilst the operation was uncomfortable, it did not hurt and I was kept reassured by Prof Gartry and I was in and out of the theatre within about 25 minutes.

My eye sight (previously -2.25 in each eye) was a little blurry for the first couple of days. When I returned for the 48 hour check up, Prof Gartry removed the temporary contacts he had put in my eyes to help the healing process and my vision was immediately improved and, I’d say, perfect. I spent the next few weeks using the eye drops as instructed and frankly woke up each day smiling that I could see without any need for glasses and able to really enjoy my travels without the need for contact lenses.
