David Gartry and his team are very thorough and professional. They explain everything in an understandable way and walk you through each stage of the entire process. I am very happy with the cataract surgery performed.
I was recommended to the Clinic by a friend of mine, given I play a lot of outdoor sports and were wearing both reading & distance glasses the the had come to resort to surgery. Following a consultation by Prof David Gartry, I was inspired by his professionalism and confidence he could improve my sight.
Some 4 weeks have now pasted since surgery and my eyes feel better and my sight is brilliant. There were some initial concerns over my previous prescription, but this was explained fully, however I think even the old Prof is surprised by the results he has achieved.
Coupled with his experience and procedures he has carried out over the years, there was no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't be in good hands.

I am delighted with how the operation went and the subsequent checkups have been excellent. I decided to have LASEK rather than LASIK as I wanted to continue contact sports. I chose David Gartry because 2 colleagues had laser-eye surgery with David too and were pleased with the outcome.
I was impressed by the initial consultation with David Gartry and subsequent checkups following the operation last August. Although there was inevitable discomfort from the LASEK surgery in the week post-operation, I regularly met with David Gartry and his team who were very supportive and after a fortnight my eyes were feeling much better and not having to use glasses is fantastic!
I had my 3 month review last week, and I am delighted with my eye sight and there is no discomfort. I am also pleased to say I am not suffering from dry eyes either.

I had refractive Lens Exchange surgery with femtosecond laser performed by Dr David Garty and from start to finish was an excellent experience. He and his whole team make you feel very relaxed and the operation was effortless and painless. I used to have 2 pairs of glasses one for reading and one for distance…..Now i have 20/20 vision and no need for either. As i said to him the man is a magician with the touch of an Angel. Just had my final lens replacement op check up. 20/20 vision and I am able to read the smallest print. My experience at David Gartry’s Wimpole Eye Clinic and Moorfields Hospital has exceeded my expectations!
I have always wanted to have corrective eye surgery but only just organised it in June 2022, following a recommendation from my daughter’s friend. The results are life changing! I wish I had done this years ago.
The procedure went smoothly from start to finish. It involved an initial assessment by Prof David Gartry with clear recommendations for treatment. Afterwards I was provided with a helpful detailed written explanation of why multi focal toric lenses would best resolve my short sightedness, astigmatism and early cataracts.

It all went like clockwork and I was really well looked after right through the process. It is not as scary as one might imagine and no pain at all so I found it fascinating. The outcome is superb so I am more than happy to recommend Professor Gartreu and his team wholeheartedly
David Gartry did both my eyes in April 22, a week apart, to give me the best long distance vision that he could, which was my request. I am very pleased with the outcome. My vision now is much better than I thought it would be and the pleasure of driving and working outdoors without (expensive!) prescription glasses is great to have back. Also using binoculars/telescopes is so much easier now. The lens exchange also "balanced" my eyes so I can now use "off the shelf" 2.0 readers available everywhere (cheap!) for reading and close up work. I knew this would be needed as my absolute priority was the best possible long distance vision that he could give me. Previously; I had worn prescription bifocal glasses for 7 years before the operations and readers of increasing strength for about the same time before that. Readers I never minded, failing long distance vision I never got used to and it really interferred with lots that I did. 2 of my friends recommended Mr Gartry, which is how I heard of him.
