Where do I start… Fantastic patient care right through from initial consultation, treatment & aftercare. David Gartry and his team are friendly, highly knowledgeable and professional! My prescription was high (-8.5 & -7.5) and after being recommended The Wimpole Eye Clinic, I knew that they were best placed to treat such a high prescription as I didn't feel comfortable going to a high street clinic. I write this review four months after having the procedure done with David and I now have better than 20/20 vision! I wore glasses for 26 years and daily disposable lenses for 16 years…. not any more!!
Fantastic experience going from -6.5 prescription in both eyes to 20/20 vision now, I couldn't recommend the lasic treatment enough! I was reliant on glasses and contact lenses from the moment I woke up to going to sleep at night and now all that has gone and life is so much nicer having the gift of sight. Professor David Gartry was fantastic and explained everything so carefully. Completely recommend him as a consultant.

I have been very short sighted since I was aged five years and this surgery has transformed my life! I was terrified beforehand – despite all reassurances – but indeed it was painless and not at all scary. The team looked after me so carefully and gently that I can honestly say that if I had a third eye I would not hesitate to have the procedure again if I needed it! I now have mono vision which means I don’t need glasses at all – I can read and work at the computer easily with no glasses and also go for walks and drive with ease. Give that I started at -13.5 short sight – that is an amazing result. I have no hesitation recommending Mr Gartry and the team at The Wimpole Eye Clinic.

Having been shortsighted and wearing glasses for over 30 years, having Lasik has been life-changing. I was extremely anxious about the whole idea, but my consultation discussion with Prof Gartry put me right at ease and addressed all my concerns and queries. I decided I would go ahead with the surgery straightaway.
The procedure itself was seamless and completely pain-free – done in the week of Christmas during lockdown 2! The aftercare I received was great. The clinic were very accommodating when I called for an impromptu appointment 6 weeks down the line, as I was concerned about dry eye blurriness and saw me straightaway. My eyesight was around minus 6.5/6.75 pre-surgery, and I now have almost perfect vision after just one surgery. I wish I had done it years ago! Prof Gartry and his team (including nurses and the secretarial staff) are amazing, professional and very friendly. I'll be recommending them to everyone I know!
I had the best experience at Professor David Gartry's clinic. My prescription was long sighted with astigmatism and they corrected it amazingly. The surgery was quick and relatively OK in pain level. I'd recommend telling someone even if you're slightly anxious before the surgery as they have measures available to help you through it. Im so happy I had lasik done.
I had an astigmatism in one of my eyes and found that over the past few years I was having to wear my glasses permanently as my vision without them was out of focus. I had the lens in both eyes replaced at the same time and the following day I was able to read without my glasses! I can honestly say that it has changed my life and I would thoroughly recommend The Wimpole Eye Clinic who looked after me so well and made the experience so easy.
I had LASEK in December 2020 after years of uncertainty. It was a great decision and I recovered within a fortnight. My vision is almost 20/20 with no side effects. LASEK is the other option for laser and Prof Gartry and team were helpful, thorough and I was in great hands. Some usual routine sensitivity and watering post surgery which was expected. I followed the teams instructions and my eyes healed well, with optimal vision coming in 2 months later. I highly recommend and wish I had done it sooner!
