Having had previous treatment 16 years ago with laser, at Moorfields from Prof Gartry I had no doubt about having lens exchange surgery performed by him and am so glad I did! It is just 10 days ago since my procedure and it is so amazing to wake up and see things so clearly it’s as if i have my reading glasses on all the time. Prof Gartry made me feel so relaxed with his easy manner and he explains everything when he is performing the procedure which is also painless. Excellent service from start to finish. Very professional. Every detail carefully explained, no pressure to have procedure. First day bit sore, but bearable after that. Very quick recovery time. Bit blurry eyed and needed eye drops for dry eyes for first two months, but drops no longer required. Result better than expected, with vision now better than 20/20! Would definitely recommend.

As a result of shortsightedness and astigmatism, I had been wearing glasses for most of my life. This had lots of shortcomings with playing sports etc. I finally picked up the courage to have a discussion about laser eye treatment. Moorfields seemed the obvious place to have the procedure carried out and Professor David Gartry came well recommended. Professor Gartry and his team were professional and knowledgeable. They provided me with details in an objective manner. I had the procedure and was pleased with how much I could see, however I was left with some minor shortsightedness and astigmatism. Professor Gartry was happy to perform a refinement procedure. I have had this and now enjoy sharp vision.

My overall thoughts are that choosing to have LASIK treatment is one of the best decisions I made. The procedure was a lot more routine than I had imagined and I can now enjoy sharp vision. Professor Gartry and his team are highly experienced and skilled and I have already recommended him to my friends and relatives.
