Can now play golf and fill in the scorecard without the trouble of having to find my glasses
You have to be patient and wait for your eyes to settle down. I can now drive, swim and play badminton without glasses. Although I now need reading glasses for work, It is a compromise I don’t mind making. Thank you to mr Gartry and his team.
David attended the Moorfields Eye Hospital Consultants’ dinner on thursday 28th January. This is a very popular traditional annual event held at The Honourable Artillery Company’s grand and auspicious headquarters in Bunhill Fields EC1 – very close to Moorfields itself. Consultants and guests have the rare opportunity to get together socially and let their hair down (relatively speaking!) and catch up on each others’ news. The president of The Moorfields Association, Mr Tim ffytche, the Chairman of the Moorfields Advisory Committee, Mr James Acheson, and senior consultant surgeon, Professor Richard Collin all gave excellent after dinner speeches and, as they say, a good time was had by all!
I am extremely happy with my vision after LASIK surgery. Excellent vision in both eyes. The whole procedure including initial consultation and the surgery went very smoothly. I had no real pain at all, only very minor discomfort (heavy eyes) for a couple of hours after surgery. My vision was excellent just a few hours later.
After many years of consideration I finally decided to ‘grasp the nettle’ and investigate the possibilities of laser eye surgery. My research led me to Professor Gartry and Moorfields. I was concerned that my -6 prescription may be problematic, however the first consultation allayed such fears. I have to thank Professor Gartry and his whole team for making the whole process so seamless. You may consider that the day of surgery would be daunting, however this was not the case. The team were so professional and understanding, such worries were quickly eased, with the results a revelation. Thoroughly recommended.Thank you.
I used to be long sighted with a stigmatism before I came to Dr Gatry through a recommendation of a friend and found that his team of professional staff were brilliant and very supportive.
When having the surgery I was very nervous going in for the operation. I went through the first half of the surgery on the Friday and was recommended to come back on the Monday for the second half. Having a break was just what I needed! The second time I came I felt more relaxed knowing where I was going, what the room looked like, how many people in the room and what if felt like to have the clamps on my eyes. I took some relaxing tablets which were amazing just before I went in for the second part of my surgery. This was just what I needed! It is very important to be relaxed when having the surgery to get the best results.
In the next couple of days after the surgery I put lots eye drops in. The more I looked after my eyes, straight after the surgery the faster and better my eyes healed. I have now got 20 20 vision. Thank you all for the amazing job and care you have given me. I would recommend to all of my friends. Thank you!
It is brilliant to have perfect long range vision again! When bird-watching I hardly need my binoculars!
Wonderful and professional care from beginning to end!
I had total confidence in the whole team and Dr Gartry.
I am extremely satisfied and very happy with the cateract surgery and would like to thank professor Gartry and his team.
