On Friday 13th Moorfields held an Alumni day which David Gartry attended. It is a conference that lasts the day and is open to all current and former members of Moorfields’ clinical staff. Those attending are given the opportunity to learn about the very latest developments in technology, research and innovation as well as clinical practice in ophthalmology. Today the event was held at the Royal Society of Medicine, One Wimpole Street, London.

Initial advice was thorough and neutral. ( No hard sell. ) All the staff were very professional, polite and willing to take the time to listen. The difficulties with my vision and the treatment were explained in terms I could understand. ( not full of techno talk. ) The actual operation was painless and non stressful. All appointments were on time and the staff were very flexible in making things easy for us even to the point of changing our schedule to suit our travel arrangements. The aftercare is second to none. I am convinced this was good value for money. I got what was promised and the result exceeded my expectations.
Really happy with result. I was told that I would have to wear reading glasses after the procedure but they are happily not required. No problems post operation. Found the staff excellent, the appointments on time and the operation itself explained as we were going along so not really frightening (for this cowardly person). Recommended to a friend who got a double cataract op here and also to neighbour who is pondering the op. Brilliant
